My mom actually turned me on to this twist. Sure, it looks like a regular ol’ green smoothie. I get it.
But wait, there’s more… (Did you say that in your best game show host voice? I hope so.)
“Orange You Glad I Went Bananas” Recipe:
- 2 frozen bananas
- 2 handfuls of spinach
- 1 large navel orange
- A portion of the orange peel (my mom does half, I tried it out with 1/4 and dug it.)
- Your choice of soy/nut/rice milk -enough for desired consistency
Like ground flaxseed, hempseed, a dash of vanilla or ginger? Add in your own twist -be bold, be daring!
Grind this baby up in the blender -the longer you shred up that orange peel the smoother it’ll get. Between the pulp of the orange and the chewy peel, it’s got a bit of mass to it. Not as smooth as most of my smoothies, but, I tell ya what, I liked the zippiness and didn’t mind the extra texture.
